Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 c. sifted cake flour (she used regular plain flour)
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, adding sugar gradually. Beat with electric mixer for 10 minutes. (She beat her batter by hand). Sift dry ingredients. Add eggs one at a time to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition. Add flour mixture with milk, almond, and vanilla extracts. Pour into 3 greased 9 inch pans. Line bottom of pans with wax paper. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool in pans for 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on racks.
