Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix together maple syrup, sugar, and water in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook to the hard-ball stage.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Beat egg white until stiff peaks form.
  5. Add vanilla to the hot syrup mixture and pour it over the beaten egg white.
  6. Stir in chopped nuts.
  7. Beat the mixture until stiff enough to hold its shape.
  8. Drop spoonfuls onto waxed paper to set.
