Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. fresh green beans
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 16 oz. Italian salad dressing
  • 1/2 c. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. tarragon vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. dry whole basil
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. dry whole oregano
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 (2 oz.) jar pimento
  • lemon slices (garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash beans, trim ends and string.
  2. Place beans in a 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
  3. Add water to the dish.
  4. Cover with heavy-duty plastic wrap and microwave at High for 12 to 14 minutes or until crisp-tender, stirring after 6 minutes.
  5. Let stand covered for 2 minutes.
  6. Drain the beans.
  7. Combine Italian salad dressing, lemon juice, tarragon vinegar, dry whole basil, pepper, dry whole oregano, and crushed garlic in a small bowl.
  8. Stir well to mix.
  9. Pour the dressing mixture over the drained beans.
  10. Cover and refrigerate for 6 to 8 hours before serving.
