Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. thick flank steak or London broil
  • 2/3 cup dry red wine
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon oregano, crumbled
  • 1/8 teaspoon marjoram, crumbled
  • freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix together the dry red wine, soy sauce, oregano, marjoram, and freshly ground black pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Place the steak in a long glass baking dish and pour the marinade over the meat.
  3. Cover and chill for at least 12 to 18 hours, turning the meat over once or twice.
  4. Preheat the broiler.
  5. Remove the steak from the marinade, pat dry.
  6. Broil the steak 4 inches from the heat for about 5 minutes on each side.
  7. Cut thin slices diagonally across the grain to serve.
  8. Serve with rice.
