Ingredients

  • 1 can strawberry, cherry or blueberry pie filling
  • 1 can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 1 to 2 cups flaked coconut
  • 1 to 1.5 cups walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In an ungreased 13x9-inch cake pan, spread the pie filling evenly.
  3. Layer the drained crushed pineapple over the pie filling.
  4. Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the pineapple.
  5. Pour melted butter or margarine on top of the cake mix.
  6. Sprinkle the flaked coconut over the top.
  7. Add the walnuts or pecans on top of the coconut.
  8. Bake for 1 hour at 350°F (175°C).
  9. Let sit for one whole day before serving to prevent crumbling.
