Ingredients

  • 1 loaf white bread, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 6 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
  • 1 (4 oz.) pkg. slivered almonds
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 c. mayonnaise
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Remove crust from bread and spread each slice with a mixture of all other ingredients.
  3. Cut into strips or any other desired shape.
  4. If desired, freeze on a baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer bag and store in freezer until needed.
  5. To serve, bake for 10 minutes or until brown.
