  1. Put cocoa, sugar, and salt in a skillet and stir.
  2. Add butter, vanilla, and milk to the skillet.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently.
  4. Cook until the temperature reaches 232°F (soft-ball stage).
  5. Remove from heat and beat until thick.
  6. Pour into a buttered pan and let it set.
  7. Cut into squares before it becomes too hard.
