Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. margarine, melted and divided
  • 2 c. Bisquick baking mix
  • 2/3 c. buttermilk
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Combine the baking mix, buttermilk, sugar, salt, and half of the melted margarine in a medium bowl. Mix until well-blended.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 30 seconds, or until the dough becomes elastic.
  4. Pat or roll the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut into biscuits.
  5. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for approximately 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Brush with the remaining melted margarine before serving, if desired.
