Sweet and spiced apple butter with warm cinnamon and all-spice flavors, perfect for spreading on toast or gifting during the fall season.

Ingredients

  • 5 lbs. apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 box powdered pectin
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground all-spice
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Combine peeled, cored, and sliced apples with water in a large pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and cook for 25 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring occasionally.
  3. Mash the cooked apples and stir in brown sugar, powdered pectin, cinnamon, all-spice, and nutmeg.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Pour the hot apple butter into pint jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
  6. Seal the jars and process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes.
