- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Grease 2 cookie sheets; set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in quick cooking oats, light brown sugar, flour, milk, and salt.
- Drop batter by level teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake 6 cookies at a time for 7 to 9 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Remove from oven and let stand for 1 minute.
- Quickly transfer cookies to a flat surface to cool.
- Melt chocolate over hot, not boiling, water.
- Spread melted chocolate on one cookie with a small spatula and sandwich with another cookie to form a pair.
