- Mix egg and milk, adding salt.
- Remove crusts from bread; dip in mixture.
- Fry quickly in hot fat until a delicate brown, turning.
- Spread lightly with butter, sprinkle with sugar and place a spoonful of jelly on each piece.
- Serves 4.
