Ingredients

  • 12 pasta stuffing shells
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz jar picante sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 4 oz can green chilies chopped
  • 4 oz shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 (8 oz) cans French fried onions

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and drain excess fat.
  2. Combine the picante sauce, water, and tomato sauce in a bowl.
  3. Mix 1/2 cup of the cooked ground beef with chopped green chilies, 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese, and 2 ounces of French fried onions.
  4. Pour half of the remaining sauce mixture into the bottom of a 10-inch round or 8x12-inch baking dish.
  5. Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the beef and cheese mixture and place them in the baking dish.
  6. Pour the remaining sauce mixture over the stuffed shells.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheese and French fried onions on top.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
