Ingredients

  • 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 4 oz. can chopped green chilis
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. cumin
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a large, non-metal bowl, stir together the crushed tomatoes, chopped green chilis, finely chopped onion, vegetable oil, salt, crushed dried oregano, garlic powder, sugar, chili powder, cumin, and chopped fresh cilantro.
  2. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
