Microwave Baked Custard

- Heat milk at High for 3 to 4 minutes until very hot, but not boiling.
- Combine eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt in a bowl.
- Beat until well blended.
- Gradually add hot milk to the egg mixture, beating well.
- Divide the mixture evenly between 6 custard cups.
- Place the cups in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle ground nutmeg over each custard.
- Pour about 1/2 cup hot water around the cups in the baking dish.
- Cook at Medium (50%) power for 8 1/2 minutes, rearranging cups after 3 minutes.
- Continue cooking at Medium for 5 minutes, testing for doneness every 30 seconds and removing any that are soft set.
