- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Grease and flour a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan or two (8-inch) round pans.
- In a large bowl, cream together sugar and butter; add sour cream, eggs and vanilla.
- Sift together flour and baking powder and add to creamed mixture; beat well.
- Pour into prepared pans.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tests done.
