Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. white Karo
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 c. raw peanuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. soda

Instructions

  1. Cook sugar, Karo, and water in a large kettle until it reaches crack stage, 275°F on a candy thermometer.
  2. Add peanuts, stirring until the mixture reaches 300°F.
  3. Remove from heat and add vanilla, soda, and butter. Stir until the butter melts.
  4. Pour the mixture onto 2 1/2 feet of buttered foil, stretching to desired thickness as it cools.
  5. When cool, break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
