Million Dollar Pickles

Ingredients

  • 2 gal. pickles
  • 1 gal. boiled water
  • 1 pt. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. alum
  • 2 1/2 qt. vinegar
  • 4 handfuls mixed pickle spices
  • cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  1. Slice the pickles.
  2. Make a brine of the boiled water and salt. Let it cool.
  3. Pour the cooled brine over the sliced pickles.
  4. Tie the mixed pickle spices in a bag and add to the mixture.
  5. Add cinnamon sticks and vinegar.
  6. Let stand for 7 days with a weight on top.
