Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup light Karo syrup
  • 1/4 cup dark molasses
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups Spanish peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, water, light Karo syrup, and dark molasses in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until it reaches 290°F (hard crack stage).
  3. Remove from heat and add baking soda and Spanish peanuts, stirring quickly.
  4. Pour the mixture immediately onto a greased cookie sheet and spread evenly.
  5. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
