Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cups day old bread cubes
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup seeded raisins
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Heat milk until it is scalding with bubbles around the edge of the pan.
  2. Pour the hot milk over the bread cubes and let it soak.
  3. Cool the mixture slightly, then add the remaining ingredients: melted butter, sugar, eggs, raisins, and cinnamon or nutmeg.
