Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fresh mussels cleaned
  • 1 large sweet onion chopped
  • 2 c. dry white wine
  • loaf of crusty bread of your choice

Instructions

  1. Put mussels in ice water and discard any that do not close.
  2. Saute onions until transparent.
  3. Add white wine to the onions and bring to a boil.
  4. Add the cleaned mussels to the boiling mixture.
  5. Cook until mussels open, discarding any unopened ones.
  6. Pour the cooked mussels and broth into bowls.
  7. Serve with crusty bread.
