Ingredients

  • 6 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup white Karo syrup
  • 1/2 pound butter
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix butter, sugar, milk, and Karo syrup in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until it forms a hard ball in cold water or reaches the temperature specified with a candy thermometer.
  3. Beat the mixture as long as possible, then add vanilla and chopped nuts.
  4. Pour onto a greased cookie sheet or pan.
  5. Cool, then cut into pieces.
  6. Immediately hide the candy to prevent losing it.
