- Mix butter, sugar, milk, and Karo syrup in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until it forms a hard ball in cold water or reaches the temperature specified with a candy thermometer.
- Beat the mixture as long as possible, then add vanilla and chopped nuts.
- Pour onto a greased cookie sheet or pan.
- Cool, then cut into pieces.
- Immediately hide the candy to prevent losing it.
