Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) can pork and beans
  • 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 3 Tbsp. cumin
  • 3 Tbsp. chili powder
  • garlic powder
  • ketchup
  • beer

Instructions

  1. Using a large pot, brown the meat.
  2. Add all spices, except garlic powder.
  3. Stir.
  4. After simmering for 1 to 2 minutes, generously sprinkle meat-spice mixture with ketchup and garlic powder.
  5. Stir and continue to simmer.
  6. Add the 2 cans of beans and mix well.
  7. Bring to a boil.
  8. Continue at simmer for 2 hours.
  9. Do not skimp on simmering.
  10. This mixes the flavors.
  11. For moisture, use beer during cooking as needed.
  12. Serve with shredded Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese.
