Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 Tbsp ginger
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses

Instructions

  1. 1 preheat oven to 350
  2. 2 cream sugar and shortening
  3. 3 sift dry ingredients
  4. 4 beat in egg and molasses to sugar/shortening
  5. 5 add in dry ingredients
  6. 6 form teaspoons of dough, roll in sugar
  7. 7 place 2 inches apart in ungreased baking pan
  8. 8 bake for 12 minutes
  9. 9 cool, then dust with confectioners sugar
