Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • dash of salt
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Blend the flour and milk until smooth.
  2. Cook the mixture until it thickens to the consistency of cream.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool, but do not chill it.
  4. Cream together the sugar, butter, and shortening.
  5. Add a dash of salt and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture.
  6. Gradually add the slightly cooked flour mixture and continue beating until very fluffy.
