Nana's Eggnog is a rich, creamy holiday beverage blending eggs, milk, and choice of spirits, topped with whipped cream and nutmeg—perfect for festive gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 12 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 quart milk
  • 2 to 2 1/2 cups bourbon or rum or 2 tablespoons rum extract
  • 1 pint whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs.
  2. Beat the egg yolks with 1 cup of sugar.
  3. Stir in milk and liquor or extract.
  4. Beat the egg whites until stiff but not dry, adding 1/2 cup sugar.
  5. Fold the egg whites into the milk and yolk mixture.
  6. Beat the whipping cream and fold it into the mixture.
  7. Chill the eggnog several hours.
  8. Serve with freshly grated nutmeg on top.
