No Knead Egg Bread

Ingredients

  • 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. soft butter
  • 2 c. very warm water (120~ to 130~)
  • 3 eggs, at room temperature

Instructions

  1. In large bowl thoroughly mix 1 1/2 cups flour, sugar, salt and undissolved yeast.
  2. Add butter.
  3. Gradually add very warm water to dry ingredients and beat 2 minutes with mixer.
  4. Add eggs and 1/2 cup flour.
  5. Beat at high speed for 2 minutes.
  6. Stir in enough additional flour to make a soft dough.
  7. Cover; let rise in warm place for 35 minutes (until double).
  8. Stir down; turn into 2 greased 1 1/2-quart casserole dishes.
  9. Cover; let rise for 40 minutes.
  10. Bake at 375° for about 35 minutes.
  11. Remove from casseroles to cool.
