Ingredients

  • 1 gal. cucumbers
  • 1 c. salt
  • 2 oz. alum
  • vinegar
  • pickling spices (about 1/2 oz.)
  • sugar

Instructions

  1. Place one gallon of cucumbers in a large container.
  2. Sprinkle 1 cup of salt over the cucumbers.
  3. Pour boiling water over the cucumbers and salt.
  4. Let stand for one day.
