- Cream the butter and add the egg yolks.
- Cream again after adding egg yolks.
- Add half of the sugar to the mixture.
- Alternately add flour and milk to the mixture.

- Fold the beaten egg whites into the cake mixture.
- Sift the baking powder on top of the mixture and cut and fold it in.
- Bake in three layers in a hot oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes.
