Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and shortening until well combined.
  2. Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
  3. Butter the rolled-out dough evenly.
  4. Sprinkle a generous layer of brown sugar over the buttered dough.
  5. Roll the dough in jellyroll fashion to enclose the filling.
  6. Cut the rolled dough into 1/2 inch thick slices.
  7. Bake at 375°F for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
