Ingredients

  • 1 cup very ripe banana, mashed
  • 1 cup old apple, diced
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Mix the mashed banana and diced apple together in a saucepan.
  2. Add sugar, honey, and water to the fruit mixture and combine well.
  3. Simmer the mixture over low heat, stirring often until thickened, about 15 minutes.
  4. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice.
  5. Serve the fruit compote over pound cake or ice cream.
