Ingredients

  • 1 lb butter
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter.
  2. Add flour and sugar; mix well.
  3. The batter will be stiff.
  4. Place in a 9 x 13-inch glass pan.
  5. Poke holes with a fork once the mixture is in the pan.
  6. Heat the oven to 275°F (135°C).
  7. Bake the shortbread for 3 minutes on the bottom rack, then for 1 hour at the same temperature.
  8. Remove from oven and cut into squares immediately.
