  1. Mix mayo, Swiss cheese, and chopped onion in a bowl.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a shallow baking dish or Pyrex bowl.
  3. Bake at 425°F for 15 to 20 minutes or until the top is lightly browned.
  4. Prepare pita triangles by cutting round pita bread into 8 triangles and splitting each by peeling two sides apart.
  5. Lightly spread margarine on the split side of each pita triangle.
  6. Place the pita triangles on a cookie sheet, margarine side up.
  7. Sprinkle with garlic salt.
  8. Broil for approximately 3 minutes or until lightly browned.
  9. Serve the hot dip with the garlic pita triangles.
