- Mix mayo, Swiss cheese, and chopped onion in a bowl.
- Transfer the mixture to a shallow baking dish or Pyrex bowl.
- Bake at 425°F for 15 to 20 minutes or until the top is lightly browned.
- Prepare pita triangles by cutting round pita bread into 8 triangles and splitting each by peeling two sides apart.
- Lightly spread margarine on the split side of each pita triangle.
- Place the pita triangles on a cookie sheet, margarine side up.
- Sprinkle with garlic salt.
- Broil for approximately 3 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Serve the hot dip with the garlic pita triangles.
