Ingredients

  • 5 medium fresh beets
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. shredded orange peel
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar

Instructions

  1. Prepare and cook fresh beets, then cut into slices.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch, brown sugar, shredded orange peel, salt, pepper, orange juice, and vinegar.
  3. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and boils.
  4. Boil and stir for 1 minute.
  5. Stir in the sliced beets and heat thoroughly.
