Ingredients

  • 1 recipe sweet dough
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup grated orange rind
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup margarine, melted

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sweet dough as directed in your recipe.
  2. Combine sugar, grated orange rind, and raisins to make the filling mixture.
  3. Divide the prepared dough in half.
  4. Roll out each half into an 18 x 9-inch rectangle.
  5. Brush the dough rectangles with melted margarine.
  6. Sprinkle the sugar and orange rind mixture evenly over the dough.
  7. Roll up each rectangle from the long sides to form logs.
  8. Cut each log into 1 1/2-inch slices and place them in two greased 9-inch cake pans.
  9. Cover the pans and let the rolls rise in a warm, draft-free place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  10. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 to 25 minutes, until lightly browned.
  11. Remove from the pans and frost immediately with orange icing.
