Chewy, crunchy, and sweet Oriental Chews combine chocolate, butterscotch, coconut, and almonds, making a delightful treat perfect for parties, holidays, or everyday snacking.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz. pkg. chow mein noodles
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 6 oz. butterscotch flavored chips
  • 3 oz. pkg. slivered almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Place chow mein noodles and flaked coconut on a cookie sheet in a single layer.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes or until crisp.
  4. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips and butterscotch chips in the top of a double boiler over hot, not boiling, water.
  5. Remove from heat; stir in slivered almonds, coconut, and noodles.
  6. Drop the mixture by teaspoons onto waxed paper.
  7. Cool until set.
