Ingredients

  • 6 firm ripe tomatoes
  • salt
  • pepper
  • sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Instructions

  1. Halve the tomatoes crosswise and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and a generous pinch of sugar.
  2. Top each tomato half with about 1/2 teaspoon of grated Parmesan cheese and dot with 1/2 teaspoon of butter.
  3. Broil about 6 inches from the heat for 4 to 5 minutes until golden and bubbly.
