- Lightly dampen grease-proof paper or aluminum foil cut in a 9-inch circumference.
- Beat egg whites until stiff and frothy.
- Gradually add sugar and beat until thick.
- Fold in sifted cornstarch and lemon juice.
- Spread into a volcano shape on the prepared paper.
- Bake in a slow oven at 250°F for 2 hours.
- Turn off the oven and leave the pavlova in the oven until cool.
- Decorate with whipped cream, strawberries, kiwi fruit, and bananas.
