Pear Custard Bars

- Cream butter and 1/3 cup sugar together; beat in flour, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and nuts.
- Press in greased 8-inch square pan. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or lightly browned.
- Cool. Mix cream cheese, egg, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla together and pour over crust.
- Drain pears and cut into 1/8-inch slices. Arrange over filling.
- Combine 1/2 teaspoon sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over pears.
- Bake at 375° for 28 to 30 minutes.
- Center will be soft, but will firm while cooling.
- Refrigerate before cutting.
