Ingredients

  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 4 c. flour

Instructions

  1. Mix the hot water and Crisco, then add yeast with cold water and let stand until foamy.
  2. In the mixture, add sugar, salt, cold water, and warm water to hot water and Crisco mixture.
  3. Add yeast mixture and flour. Knead lightly.
  4. Set aside to rise until doubled in bulk.
