Pears Noires

Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 4 c. water
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 6 firm pears with stems (Bosc)
  • 2 oz. dark sweet chocolate
  • 4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
  • 4 Tbsp. butter

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan large enough to hold pears upright.
  2. Cook over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add lemon juice, cinnamon and cloves.
  4. Cover tightly and simmer 10 to 15 minutes.
