Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. pickling spice (tie in cloth)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • banana peppers

Instructions

  1. Put peppers in a quart jar, removing seeds and cutting them into strips.
  2. Add salt and olive oil to the jar.
  3. Bring sugar, vinegar, and pickling spice to a boil.
  4. Pour the hot mixture over the peppers in the jar.
  5. Use more hot peppers than mild peppers for better flavor.
  6. Let the peppers marinate in the mixture; they are good with all types of veggies.
