Peppermint Strips

Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. butter or oleo
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. miniature chocolate chips
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 c. crushed peppermint candy

Instructions

  1. Combine flour and sugar in mixing bowl.
  2. Cut in butter or oleo until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Mix in egg yolk and chocolate bits.
  4. Press mixture into an ungreased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan.
  5. Beat egg white until frothy; brush over top of dough. Sprinkle with candy.
  6. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
  7. Cut into strips while warm.
