- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the outer layer of skin from 1 to 6 heads of garlic.
- Cut 1/2 inch off from the top of each garlic head straight across and arrange in a shallow baking pan.
- Drizzle 2 teaspoons of olive oil over each garlic head, letting it seep between the cloves.
- Cover the pan with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 30 to 45 minutes, until the garlic is tender when pierced with a toothpick.
- Allow to cool slightly before handling.
