Ingredients

  • 3 qt. whole okra
  • 3 heads fresh dill
  • 3 buds garlic
  • 1 qt. water
  • 1/2 cup canning salt
  • 1 pint vinegar

Instructions

  1. Select small size okra; wash well, leaving small end of stem on.
  2. Pack okra in clean sterilized jars.
  3. Put a head of dill or dill seed with a bud of garlic in each jar.
  4. Make brine of vinegar, water, and salt.
  5. Bring the brine to a boil.
  6. Pour the hot brine over the okra in the jars.
  7. Seal the jars.
  8. Let set for 4 to 6 weeks before consuming.
