Ingredients

  • 1 cup canned milk
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 angel food cake mix

Instructions

  1. Make the filling by cooking together canned milk and flour until thickened. Cool completely.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat sugar, shortening, vanilla, and salt until fluffy.
  3. Add the cooled milk and flour mixture to the beaten mixture and beat well.
  4. Fold in the drained crushed pineapple.
  5. Prepare the angel food cake mix according to package instructions.
  6. Bake the cake batter on two foil-lined cookie sheets at 350°F for 18 to 20 minutes.
  7. Spread the pineapple filling evenly on the baked cake.
  8. Carefully roll the cake like a jelly roll while still warm with the filling inside.
  9. Refrigerate before serving.
