Pineapple Filling For Cake

A sweet and tangy pineapple filling bursting with orange flavor, perfect for layered cakes and ideal for summer desserts or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 (No. 2 1/2) can crushed pineapple, drained
  • reserved pineapple juice

Instructions

  1. Mix cornstarch and sugar in a saucepan.
  2. Add the drained crushed pineapple and all of the reserved juice except for 1/2 cup.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
  4. Stir in the orange juice.
  5. Allow the filling to cool before spreading between cake layers and on top of the cake.
  6. Frost the cake with Seven Minute Icing.
