Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. margarine
  • 4 c. pecan halves
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Remove any pumpkin membrane from the seeds and rinse them well.
  2. Make a brine of water and salt, using about a six to one water-to-salt ratio.
  3. Add the seeds to the brine and let soak overnight.
  4. Preheat the oven to 225°F.
  5. Drain the seeds from the brine.
  6. Spread the seeds on a cookie sheet.
  7. Roast the seeds for about 1 hour, stirring several times, until they are dried and salty white.
