Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • shredded process American cheese
  • chopped onion
  • barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, salt and pepper.
  2. Between sheets of waxed paper, roll out patties 1/4-inch thick.
  3. Center half of patties with small amount of shredded cheese and onion and dash of barbecue sauce.
  4. Top with meat lids.
  5. Press around edges to seal.
  6. Broil over hot coals for 12 to 15 minutes, turning once.
  7. Or, bake under broiler in oven for 12 to 15 minutes, turning once.
  8. Makes three large burgers.
