- Melt the Crisco in a saucepan.
- Beat eggs, milk, and vanilla together and add to the melted Crisco.
- Dissolve yeast in warm water.
- In a bowl, combine sifted flour, salt, and sugar.
- Pour the warm liquids into the dry ingredients and stir together.
- Knead the dough and set in a greased warm bowl to rise in a warm place.
- Wrap the bowl well with towels.
- Let the dough rise until double in size.
- Knead the dough again and divide into 3 portions.
- Place each portion into greased loaf pans.
- Let the dough rise again until double in warm place, well wrapped in towels.
- Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, then at 300°F for 10 minutes.
- Remove from pans and brush with melted butter.
