- Put sausage in the bottom of a large kettle.
- Cut cabbage into 6 wedges and core it.
- Place cabbage wedges on top of the sausage.
- Peel potatoes and cut them in half lengthwise.
- Arrange potatoes on top of the cabbage.
- Husk and remove silk from the corn.
- Place corn on top of the potatoes.
- Pour broth over the layered meat and vegetables.
- Cover and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 45 minutes.
